Plywood (Interior / MR)
Birch plywood for dry and humid interior applications
Plywood (Interior / MR) from Petro Birch is an interior-grade birch plywood panel designed for dry and moderately humid service conditions – from furniture carcasses and shelving to interior linings and packaging.
A 100% birch veneer core and cross-banded construction ensure good strength, stable geometry and clean edges after machining, while MR bonding provides reliable performance in typical indoor environments.
Why choose Petro Birch Interior plywood
100% birch core for reliable strength and screw-holding
MR bonding for dry and humid interior use
Smooth, calibrated surfaces ready for painting, veneering or laminates
Wide range of thicknesses, sizes and grades for different price/appearance levels

INTERIOR PLYWOOD SOLUTIONS
Key advantages
Interior-grade moisture resistance – suitable for dry and humid rooms where plywood is not exposed to permanent wetting.
Strength & stability – birch veneer provides a strong, dimensionally stable panel with predictable performance.
Excellent surface for finishing – smooth faces for paint, lacquer, veneer, HPL and other decorative coatings.
Low-emission adhesive options – formaldehyde emission classes E0.5 and E1 available on request.
Flexible formats – wide panel size grid for optimisation in furniture, interiors and packaging.

Petro Birch Interior / MR plywood is manufactured according to internal company standards, with regular quality and process control.
| Parameter | Thickness, mm | Value, MPa |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Static bending strength, min | ||
| along the grain of the face veneers | 6.5–40 | 45 |
| across the grain of the face veneers | 6.5–40 | 30 |

Static bending strength along and across the grain of the face veneers, modulus of elasticity in static bending along and across the grain of the face veneers, and tensile strength along the grain are verified through regular lab testing for each panel type, thickness and number of plies. Lab testing reports for Petro Birch Interior / MR plywood can be provided upon customer request.

Available grades allow selection according to aesthetic and functional requirements for Petro Birch birch plywood:
Grade I: B – highest appearance and surface quality for visible applications (furniture fronts, interior elements, decorative panels).
Grade II: BB – sound surface with minor, well-repaired defects, suitable for furniture carcasses, construction and industrial use where a clean but not perfect face is required.
Grade III: CP – functional surface where filled knots, patches and colour variation are acceptable; used in structural and industrial applications where appearance is less critical.
Grade IV: C – utility surface for structural or industrial use where appearance is secondary and only basic surface integrity is required.
Applications & Grades
Petro Birch Interior / MR plywood panels are used in dry and moderately humid indoor environments where reliable strength, dimensional stability and a high-quality surface are required, without permanent water exposure or outdoor use.
Common applications include:
- Furniture carcasses, shelves and drawer components
- Interior wall and ceiling linings in residential and commercial spaces
- Subfloors and underlayment in dry and humid rooms
- Shopfitting, exhibition stands and light partitions
- Interior packaging and crates where appearance and strength both matter
